Stone, Staffordshire


Stone is a small market town in the heart of Staffordshire. It has many historical buildings a bustling high street and some lovely pubs and restaurants.






There are many events throughout the year such as, Stone Festival held in June, Stone Food & Drink Festival with real ale and local produce held in October:



Stone also hosts a Bonfire and Fireworks Display in November and Christmas Lights switch on night an evening of music and stalls.




Stone sits in the middle of the 93 mile Trent and Mersey Canal. The canal was commissioned by Josiah Wedgwood and Jame Brindley was the chief engineer. The headquarters of the canal company were located here.




Markets are held Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.



There are some good b&b's and places to visit nearby. It is centrally located for Staffordshire.
