Cheadle, Staffordshire


A historic market town, with a restored Victorian indoor and outdoor markets on Tuesdays Fridays and Saturdays. A small town with the usual facilities.



There is an Art Trail of unusual sculptures and markers set in the pavements. One of the main features of Cheadle is ST Giles Roman Catholic Church, it was designed by one of the most famous Victorian architects AWM Pugin. It is regarded as one of the finest churches in Britain. It has a 200ft spire and the interior is a sight to see finely decorated. You can light up the church by inserting a £1 coin in the slot, to witness the beauty of the church.



Of course Cheadle is very close to the world famous Alton Towers a fun theme park with gardens and grounds and adventure rides, there is also the hotel facilities. See places to visit for more information.

South Moorlands Leisure Centre offers swimming, squash and fitness activities and has a beauty salon.

Cheadle is rich in heritage, the industrial history of coal mining and iron works remnants can be found in the surrounding area.
